Residents desperate to save a once thriving Abbeydale pub will now be able to have their say when controversial demolition plans are put before a planning inspector.

Morrisons want to redevelop The Ridge and Furrow pub in Abbeydale. The pub closed in December 2013. In May 2015  Morrisons were refused planning permission in May to flatten the site and build a filling station.

In June 2010 Cheltenham Borough Council approved plans for a 42,000 sq ft Asda supermarket on the former Woodward Diesel Systems headquarters in Hatherley Lane as part of an office development. 80,000 sq ft of offices will be built alongside the store.
